I love this time of year! When the air gets crisp, the leaves crunch, and smell of pumpkin spice is in the air. Many people dread the time of year, when you start dragging out your coats, and sweaters. I’ve always wondered why people start complaining at this time of the year. Some of the best holidays are coming up. The season of thanks, a time for looking back over the past year at how good God has been to each one of us!
Our family, when we get together at the farm, will sing chorus of thanksgiving and then we all will go around the room and say what we are thankful for. But, most people bi pass right over Thanksgiving and immediately hop right into the hectic rush of Christmas. My Dad always had the rule that we didn’t put our tree up or listen to Christmas music till Thanksgiving was over. He wanted us to focus on Thanksgiving and to celebrate that holiday.
So how do you feel? Do you get aggravated at people who complain about this time of the year? Do you think that’s its ok to “skip” Thanksgiving so to speak and to rush into all the Christmas rush?

It would be hard if you were sentimental
I'm a very sentimental person! I save everything! I have about 7 shoe boxes and two other containers full of memories and little things I have saved. I remember a few years back when I clipped out a newspaper article about the last American that had died who had been aboard the Titanic and I put it in my memory box! Well tonight I saw on the news about "A Titanic survivor who is selling mementos". This article caught my attention right away and took me back to when I cut out the newspaper article. This 96 elderly lady, who lives in England, is selling her suitcase and some other mementos! The most valuable is the suitcase according to auctioneer because, "They would've carried their little world in it". Many of you I'm sure ask, "What's the reason for her selling these precious treasures?" The reason is so sad to me because she has to sell them to pay nursing home bills. If you were her would it be hard for you to sell something so precious and valuable

Parents controlling the car!
Well for this blog post I'm going to take a detour away from politics and talk about something really interesting that caught my attention on yahoo news. According to Yahoo news, Ford Motor Company is coming out with a new type of parental controls for teen drivers, who drive the newest 2010 models. The car key will have a chip in it to were teens can't go over 80 miles an hour and also limit the audio volume to help with distraction. This new feature will be called "MyKey". This will also spread to the Lincoln and Mercy line of cars that Ford makes. Another "so-called" perk is this will help against car theft. The car won't turn if it doesn't recognize the chip. So if your a teen like me would you want parents to have this much control over how you drive? For parents would you like to have this much control over your kids driving? Would you buy this type of car for your kid?

Anticipation in the Air
If your not interested in politics I doubt you are excited and anxious as I am about the Vice Presidential debates tonight. Many people will be evaluating Sarah Palin tonight to see whether or not she has enough experience to be President if needed. With her inexperience in national affairs and media coverage she has receive many criticisms. When McCain picked Palin to be his VP. I was one of the thousands I'm sure that didn't have a clue who she was but I think that McCain did a great job in picking her. Tonight her mission, according to Yahoo News is to "Halt Obama's momentum and erase concerns about her ability to stop into the top job if needed."
I believe that Palin could do the job. She is a strong woman, she demands respect from people, and she has confidence. I believe that she is firm enough that she would hold her ground and stand up for what she believed in. She has a wonderful personality. I was awed at her grace, pose, and beauty when I watched her speak on the Internet at the Republican Convention. Another thing I really like is the loving relationship she seems to have with her husband and kids(unlike Mrs. Clinton). I admire a lady that didn't abort her child when she knew that he was going to be a down syndrome baby. She also has a son in the military which means she could relate to all of us that have loved one's in the military and I believe she would support our troops and believes in the cause of the war. Another awesome thing that I really like is she can relate to the American people; her parents worked in an elementary school, she was a soccer Mom, she played sports and is an outdoor's person which is amazing. She is a member of the NRA so for all off us that don't want our gun rights taken away she is a great choice!
So do you think Palin will make it? Do you think she has what it takes to President if needed? Do you think McCain made a good choice in picking her as his VP?
